Biography

Grown up in a local farm, Andy is a nature lover and has good understanding of crops. He is a chef for a private club in Tsim Sha Tsui, and a farmer managing his family farm in Yuen Long. “I may not cook very fancy dishes, but I love to use fresh local produce in my recipes.”
Andy learnt western cooking when he was in the school. His cooking style is also influenced by his Canadian and the US exposure when he immigrated to Canada. Since his return to Hong Kong in 2011, he has been working in a private club as the head chef. Try his family style Chinese dishes, enjoy the freshness of vegetables he brought to you.

Like many of the potential customers in MobiChef, I have been a little bit skeptical if its service was worth this amount of money, with which I can dine in plenty of very nice restaurants in town. But the fact that I have very young kids gave me extra incentive to try it! In general, I would say MobiChef and Andy offered an experience far beyond my expectations.

Andy started preparing for the dinner the night before, came to our home in afternoon and departed very late at night after we finished everything. One thing to note is that, unlike most restaurants which serve all the dishes together, Andy serves the dishes one by one slowly. Andy was truly our home chef on that night --- asked us what we wanted to eat in advance, bought the best quality food in market and from his own farm, cooked in the way that you preferred (minimalist) and communicated his philosophy/experience with us.

After trying for the first time, I would say it would be unfair to compare the price point of a bespoke dining service with a "ready-to-wear" one. Even at this price point, I dare to say that the bespoke dining service offered by MobiChef and Andy is really good value for money!
