Biography

Mike’s deep appreciation for Cantonese cuisine was developed at a young age growing up in Macau and Hong Kong where he was exposed to a variety of food that fuelled his lifelong passion for cooking in his Grandpa’s restaurants ran in both places. Mike loves food and is fond of creating new dishes with his favourite ingredients – seafood.

Mike began his culinary career as a mobile personal chef when he was living in Taiwan. He brought his Cantonese cuisine to Taiwanese where he delighted all guests with his refined, contemporary dishes. He always considers it part of his job to inspire and educate guests about the culture of Cantonese soup. Having worked in Taiwan, Australia, Singapore, Beijing, Vietnam for quite some time, Mike had vast exposures to different cooking methods and being inspired therefrom.

Holding a Master degree in Psychology of Education and Degree in Electronic and Communication Engineering, Mike is currently working as a part time mobile personal chef who always shares delicious recipes and unique cooking experience online.

it was my first time with MobiChef and it was an amazing dinner for me and my friends. couldn’t believe Chef Mike just took less than two hours to make such a fantastic dinner for us!

i briefed him just one word “ seafood” and what on my table were fresh, delicious and well presented dishes!

we started with abalones and urchin. the slow cooked fresh abalones were tender and rich in taste. the urchin is my favourite. that urchin was premium quality, super fresh and yummy!

the steamed scallop in shell is totally out of my imagination! it is the first time i have a steamed scallop with both sides of shells and covered by puff pastry. what’s inside… Chef Mike pre-cooked some seafood soup and filled inside which is perfectly matched and made the taste of fresh scallop even more outstanding!

the pepper crab is the best i ever had in my life! my friend does not eat spicy at all but this dish changed her perception and she loves pepper even more than me!

the clam congee was soft and light which balanced well the spicy taste. the baked fish in salt is juicy and delicate.

the lobster on fire was the climax of the night. the cheese and chilli were just right enough that didn’t override the lobster. the cooking time management was perfect for each dish.

my experience with Chef Mike was wonderful! he is professional, skilful, efficient and nice! what’s more? my kitchen was tidy and clear. i think that is a very important point as many friends have hesitations on handing their kitchen to a stranger. they worry if the kitchen will be very messy after the cooking. i could tell you that Chef Mike brings you a worry free dinner that is value for money!

i will definitely recommend him to my friends!
